Emma is starting a new 9.30-11am Friday morning class as of 8th November.
The class will be a Vinyasa Practice class. Vinyasa krama is the special arrangement of steps towards a desired goal. In this class the practice will be arranged to take students in steps to develop stability, stamina, focus and awareness. From January 2014, the session contents will be arranged in 10 week blocks. Regular attendance will support students to develop a personal practice and drop-ins are equally welcome.

Mastery of our material selves, and the harmony and clarity which that brings, comes from sustained and appropriate practice along with detachment or surrendering without frustration anything that could constitute an obstacle in our path.
Yoga Sutras 1.12-13, based on a translation by Frans Moors in Liberating Isolation
We can work with our light to fill our personal reality, allowing it to shine for ourselves and for others. We can all work towards this.
We’d like to thank Natalia Alvarez for sharing Dancing Yoga at the studio for the last few months and to wish her well as she moves on to other things.
Natalia Alvarez started practising Dancing Yoga in 1998 and later on she decided to train as a teacher in System of Centers of Energy (Sistema de Centros de Energía) Dr. Hugo Ardiles School, Buenos Aires. She also holds a PG Certificate in Coaching (University of Aberdeen). She truly believes that body and mind cannot be separated. For her, listening to our bodies and being present can really make a difference in our lives.

Guest Teacher Melanie Frome will be doing a one off Vinyasa Elemental Flow class this Wednesday at 7pm.
This Vinyasa flow yoga class will begin with the earth element allowing everyone to connect with their inner strength. Slowly waking up the body by drawing on the element of water with fluid and progressive sequences synchronized with the breath. Building the heat within & igniting your fire by concentrating on the core of the body & moving with the increasing tempo of the music. After reaching the peak, we will cool down by incorporating the air elements before we finally complete our journey and finish with a deep restive state that allows us to draw on the final element of space.
For all levels of students, as most asanas will have modifications to allow each person to apply to their own abilities.
Melanie is assistant studio director at 5 Elements Yoga in Brampton, Canada and is currently a student of Rod Stryker (ParaYoga), and has taken workshops with Seane Corne and Sadie Nardini. She is also beginning her journey towards becoming a Certified Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist through the Himalayan Institute studying with Kathryn Templeton.

We’re really looking forward to a lovely day of yoga and deep relaxation with Martin and Rebecca on Saturday 20th July at the studio.
In the morning we will do a strong and invigorating Ashtanga practice followed by Yoga Nidra, paying particular attention to the physical effects we experience. After a break for lunch, we’ll open, release and relax with a Yin Yoga practice, followed again by Yoga Nidra, this time focussing on the energetic.
Both the morning and afternoon asana sessions will work towards Yoga Nidra (deep yogic relaxation) with a view to exploring the different effects on the state of the body and mind as we take different avenues towards relaxation.
The workshop now has ONLY 1 PLACE LEFT – booking essential – contact us if you’d like the last place!
Saturday 20 July, 1000-1600. £45 or £35 concession.
There are a series of workshops on at the studio every month going forward, have a look at our workshop and courses page for details.
We’re pleased to share the happy news that our lovely fellow teacher Karen Rennie has successfully completed her degree in painting at Gray’s School of Art. Her degree show is now on, open to the public from 1000-2000 through the week and 1000-1700 on the weekend.
