Dear Yoginis and Yogis
on Wednesday 15th March I will open the doors for the Mysore sessions for the last time. I have held this for long enough and I thank everyone who attended dover the last 4 years, since Sarah Hatcher started it,
AND – watch this space as Charlie Grange will move back to Aberdeen and then we’ll open those doors for the Mysore (and Freedom Yoga) sessions again. She trained with Sarah, whilst she was here and then also with Matthew Sweeney. We will focus not only on the Ashtanga Sequences, but also introduce Moon Sequences for the days when energy or motivation are harder to come by. Its more than a fall-back, its more like following the wisdom of the body/mind and doing Yoga appropriately and intelligently to your energy and physical or mental condition. She will start with us either sometime this summer or in the autumn.
In the meantime: I am occasionally going to announce and Open Early Morning Studio, where you can come and practice Ashtanga or other forms from 7am – 8.30am, no adjustments other than if you might ask a friend next to you to help, no monies involved (perhaps donations if you want to). These will take place on Tuesday and/or Thursday mornings. News on this via Facebook Ashtanga Yoga Aberdeen
The studio is closed over the festivite period. We reopen on Friday 6 January with a Yin, Yoga Nidra and Meditation session 6.30-8.30pm to bring clarity, commitment and provide refuge as we move into the new year.
Our normal timetable resumes on Monday 9 January – we look forward to seeing you on the mat then!
The Tuesday evening 5.30pm Let Go class is starting it’s holidays early and will restart in the new year on Tuesday 10 January 2017.
There’s a box at the studio for donations to the local food banks. If you’re coming to class and would like to make a donation, just bring along some non-perishable foods and pop them in the box. We’ll bring the box along to the food bank just before Christmas ?
As of the 28th December we will open the doors to all styles of Yoga for the renamed Mysore and Freedom Yoga Sessions. The same opening times as for the Mysore Practice apply. With the addition of Freedom Yoga we want to broaden our approach and invite students and practitioners of other styles of Yoga to come and practice in the early hours at Love Yoga. So, whatever style and however new or advanced you feel in your Yoga, as long as you have some practice of Yoga you can join us. Its absolutely beautiful to practice with a bunch of Yogis early in the morning, I can tell you, I have been doing this in this way for the last 3 years now:)))

Meditation is an incredibly powerful tool for transformation – both internally and in the world around us. We can make so much more difference than we think!
As well as our usual guided seated meditation for peace, we’re including movement meditation dance and the opportunity to share food and a sense of community with each other afterwards. We will hold space for those that feel drawn to come together to sweat their prayers and join their minds in meditating on peace and a loving way forward for the human race & the planet.
