• Ashtanga Yoga: an Exploration of Practice: Breath, Bandha, Asana: All Levels

◦ 9am – 10 am – The Foundations of Ashtanga: Bandha, Breath and Vinyasa

Join Sarah Hatcher from Edinburgh for this one day ashtanga yoga immersion. We will start the day with a careful look into the foundations of ashtanga yoga: breath, bandha and vinyasa, the heart of the practice. 

The morning class will be a guided primary series followed by an afternoon researching the Intermediate series. All levels of practitioners are welcome. Students attending the afternoon are recommended to attend the morning session first.

Deeply Relaxing Yoga – 12.15-1pm every Thursday

Join Rebecca for 45minutes of deeply relaxing lunchtime yoga every Thursday from 12.15pm to 1pm.

This class will soothe away the stresses in your body and mind, gently but powerfully stretching, strengthening & increasing flexibility.

Focussing on breath and gentle movement, this class is accessible to everyone, including beginners and those with injuries, and is deeply effective.

At only 45minutes, it’s a perfect bite-sized class for lunch time so you can go back to your day calmed, grounded, reure shed and relaxed.

Full-Counted Led Primary Friday 1 July 6-8am

Lovely guest teacher Denise Cringean is here this week guiding the morning Mysore program and will be offering a fully counted led primary this Friday 1 July from 6am to 8am

This is open to both morning Mysore practitioners and drop-in students.

Below is a description of this class. Please come and enjoy the beautiful counted practice✨

In this extended lesson, all asanas (postures) of the Primary Series are included. Moving with steady breath and concentration, this practice generates a purifying internal heat, which strengthens and cleanses the body and mind. It is not necessary to know every asana of the series to enjoy a full primary class, verbal instructions will be given. Some experience of ashtanga and a good level of fitness is recommended.

Incorporating Meditation, Pranayama and Yoga

with Daksha Rajagopalan

Sunday 26 June, 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM

We all need time to go inwards, to dive deep and be gentle. To nurture ourselves. This workshop is a graceful time for exactly that. Let us practice gentle self-care and mindful compassion towards our hearts: let us restore, and then emerge rejuvenated.

During the workshop we will work with the energies of colour and sound, play with breath and movement, journal, talk and also experience silence. The workshop will include walking meditation, mantra meditation, pranayama/breathing practice and gentle, deeply restorative yoga. Restorative yoga is a practice that is fully supported with blankets, cushions and your willingness to let go and relax. We will also explore different breathing techniques and delve into a variety of meditative and healing practices, some of which you can ‘take home’ and turn into a daily home-practice. I would be happy to support you with this. We will also play
together with the energy of colour, especially the energy of green—the chakra colour of the heart centre. The spaces of healing that we can experience through meditation, breathing, and yoga can become even deeper, more powerful and supportive, when in the company of others.

So come, let us practice together and restore, heal and focus ourselves in the company of other like-minded well-wishers. Calm the nervous system and just allow yourself to be. This workshop is open to ‘complete’ beginners and seasoned practitioners alike.

Daksha Madhu Rajagopalan is a 200-Hr Kripalu-trained Yoga Teacher and has completed advanced training modules in Meditation instruction and Restorative Yoga. She is also certified to teach a form of yoga-dance called Let Your Yoga Dance®, and is a registered Aura-Soma Practitioner and Melody-Trained Crystal Healer; Daksha works with the energies of crystals and colour. She grew up around various forms of spiritual practice and yoga and is also an accomplished Bharatanatyam (classical Indian temple/sacred) dancer. She is currently a Masters student in Aberdeen, studying beekeeping, spirituality and anthropology and her Undergraduate Degree is in Physics and Environmental Studies from Yale. Daksha deeply enjoys teaching and guides with the utmost care, love and warmth. She considers it the deepest honour to be able to offer this workshop to you.

Mysore Guest Teacher Karen Rennie

Our dear Karen Rennie will cover the Mysore Mornings at Love Yoga when I am away training in Open Floor Dance Work in Ireland in April.
She’ll cover Friday 15th April, Monday 18th, Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th (Friday 22nd is a Moon Day), so four sessions where you can get support, touch, adjustments from Karen, whose adjustments are, in my experience always clear and gentle, subtle….a style that I prefer to forceful adjustments as its Safer!!
